Burning PS2 games to DVD-R Discs
« on: April 03, 2011, 11:43:22 PM »
What You'll Need:
- IMGBurn
- Blank DVD-R Disc

1. Download and install IMGburn.

2. Chuck in a blank DVD-R disc into your PC/Laptop and open up IMGburn.

3. Click on "Write image file to disc".

4. Click on the small folder with the magnifying glass (see image below) to find your .ISO file (The .ISO file is your PS2 game).

5. Make sure "Verify" is checked and make sure your burning speed is "x4".

6. Click burn! Burning may take some time, this is normal.

Once finished IMGBurn will make a jingle sound letting you know your burn is finished and your disc will pop out. Have fun playing your favourite PS2 games!

If you are using Free MC Boot/ESR to play the games you do.  If you are using a mod-chip you don't.  If you do patch the games with ESR and are using a chip it will NOT affect the ability for the chipped system to play the game.

I just got the free mcboot on my memory card with sms, esr and hd loader. I though it would be as easy as to follow these steps and play the games but for some reason it isn't working.

Is there a special type of blank dvd's to use for this to work?
silver dvd's, blue? brands?

Am I supposed to configure the mcboot in any way?

Is there a list of games that are not compatible with ESR?
 ???
It's 7am and I've been trying to figure this out for too long.

Need help

You have to patch the game with ESR Disc Patcher first before burning when playing the game with Free Mcboot. ESR Disc Patcher can be downloaded here.

Just do what Raysie said to patch the ISO before burning.  DVD-r and +r both work.  I have used TDK and Verbatim brand DVDs with great succes, but avoid Memorex.  The list of game incompatible with ESR is VERY short and no need to configure anything.

So, if I have Swap Magic, theres no reason to ESR patch my backups?

I'll need more info than that.

- Did you download all the parts?
- What type of discs did you burn it on?
- Has a downloaded PS2 game ever worked for you before?
- Is your PS2 even modded?

When you have download and extract all part of ps2, isn't it's extension supposed to be cd image like .iso or such?
The one that you must burn is the cd image not the part i think :)
