Thanks for the replies, I'm taking notes.  I'm not sure why I didn't think of Smash Brothers that way, but I agree, especially break the targets and board the platforms with certain characters, sandbag smash, etc.  I'll have to play League of Legends again.  Mirror's Edge is now on my list, I don't know how I overlooked it before.  Metroid, definitely.  I just got Other M to see how it plays.

I love games like GunValkyrie and Shinobi/Nightshade because they allow (and demand) a very high degree of control of movement and weaponry, even though it takes time to learn.  What are your favorite 3rd-person games with advanced control setups (on any generation system or PC)?

Pirates Legend of the Black Buccaneer on PS2.  I saw it for $1 and thought what the heck.  It's actually a lot of fun, although I don't know why there are apes on a caribbean island.  I love the island scenery for some reason.  Also, XGIII on PS2, I never get tired of breaking the sound barrier.  I don't think I'll ever get tired of that generation's games.

I'm pretty sure it was Pac-Man or Donkey Kong in an arcade that had original machines.  Now I'm going to have to go back and find that place.  I love arcades, I wish there were more still around.

Gaming Lounge / Re: List of Criminally Underrated Games

- Activision's Battlezone (1995). The best game ever in that era, period. This game deserved a million times more attention than it received, cementing together Real Time Strategy and First Person Shooter.
- Serious Sam. Awesome little FPS from way back when.
- World of Goo. Those of you that have played it know what I'm talking about.

Classic Arcade:
- Marble Madness. The most ridiculously impossible game... Ever.
- Joust. You think any game you've ever played was hard? You're wrong.

- Battle Toads. Yes, I have finished this game. Bow down before me.  :D
- Duck Hunt. Not really "underrated," but mostly forgotten in this generation. Has anyone played this on the classic NES system? This was the Wii 20 years ahead of schedule.

- Kirby's Avalanche. Another awesome gem that no one remembers.

- Basically any really good game on this system was underrated because the system itself is the most *Criminally Underrated Console* in history.
  - Chu-Chu Rocket (MOUSE MANIA!!)
  - Shenmue (Most gamers haven't experienced this one, even if they've heard of it. GET THIS GAME.)
  - Crazy Taxi (This game was amazing in its heydey)
  - DDR (First system to have a Dance Dance Revolution series ported to it. So effing fun.)
  - Skies of Arcadia (Before it was on Gamecube this game was practically unknown)
  - Grandia II (Another fantastic RPG tons of gamers missed)
  - Worms World Party (The very first game I ever played online on a console, running on a Dial-Up internet speed.)

I remember Kirby's Avalanche!

Also, add Time Stalkers to the list of underrated Dreamcast games.  Once you get past the intro level, it opens into a great RPG with multiple characters, skills, and worlds, as well as some tough enemies (the Executioner is named that for a reason).
