General Chat / Re: Is this mic still working?

As much as I love Emuparadise, you're right on them being a mess. There are so many repeated links to content with different regions and languages as well. I feel like these lists could be cleaned up by giving users the option to download different versions of the uploaded content when they click on the game they want to view. There are TONS of ISO/ROM variants that really should be labeled, at least for the sake of information preservation which a lot of download sites fail to adequately provide.

Ditching the forum website style would be great. I also think it would be a good idea to have an easy report function. Like, you could click "report content" and a drop down menu with options like "broken link, incorrect contents, etc" could show up. This would especially be useful if you don't have to register to use this function so we can get more reports in and if you restrict it to one report per IP address with a maximum amount allowed for all posts in a day you can prevent spam. If we have a server that only admins can access with the games hosted elsewhere (like a private, low cost storage server), we can even reupload games to other sources when links go down as well so we don't have another MegaUpload disaster (especially if mirrors are provided)

You have a lot of great ideas, if this site goes through we can one again be a recognized player in the world of ROMs and emulation.

Not to mention more confusing for end users because of all the fake download buttons and less convenient. With direct hosting, you have to deal with hosts freaking out about the content being hosted to begin with as well as high costs due to high bandwith and server space requirements. This really needs to be thought out, ads might be needed as annoying as that sounds. But it could keep the site going.

I pop in every month or so, it's been quiet. I could be down for a less dead version of the site, depends how it's handled though and what it's centered around. I can write and can do Photoshop work if that means anything, though don't expect anything ultra professional.

For when 2 lesbians wanna get CLOSE.

General Chat / Someone Should Totally Release The Boomerang Controller
« on: April 20, 2016, 03:14:34 PM »

Does anyone else remember this thing? Like 10 years ago when Sony announced the PS3 I remember reading Electronic Gaming Monthly and seeing this controller, I think it was the August of 2005 issue. Who would want to see someone throw one of these together? I think it'd be pretty cool if a company made a bunch of these. They could be wired and be primarily made for PC, I've just wondered forever now how it would feel to use.

This is the issue I had, Nintendo Revolution maaaaaaaaaan!

PC Tutorials / Windows 10's Start Menu Not Responding Fix
« on: March 13, 2016, 12:28:10 PM »
Windows 10 has this incredibly annoying issue where the start menu and Cortana won't respond forcing you to hold the power button down on your computer for it to even shut down. I've had this problem for months and found a simple solution I haven't found anywhere on the Internet.

Step 1: Log into Windows, easy enough. Make sure you have the weather app in your start menu's tiles. Scroll down to "Weather" in your start menu and drag it into your tiles area, I set mine to large.

Step 2: Open the built in weather app. Open your start menu again until the weather app completely loads. If the weather app doesn't load for some reason, try again. It will most likely show your local weather in the start menu first if you have the weather app in your start menu tiles, which you should for this fix.

Step 3: Minimize the app and DO NOT close it while you use your computer.

That's it, for some reason almost every time I boot up my computer, when I do this I have a responsive start menu and if I don't open the weather app I receive the start menu problem again. Cortana worked as well until I disabled it. There's no definitive solution to fixing this problem but this one works for me, it's much easier than the rest of the solutions I tried too, which was every solution I found on the Internet.

I didn't know where to post this and I figured some people on Google who are looking for a fix would find this useful. Microsoft needs to fix their damn operating system, even a full Windows 10 reinstall didn't fix this problem.

1012 reasons to get games from Emuparadise because of how unreliable file hosts are and how much easier they are. Also, happy first post in the random section in 2016. 27 days after the year started >.>

Gaming Lounge / PS2 Games With Surround Sound Support
« on: December 13, 2015, 11:16:23 AM »
Hey guys, I've been looking around for PS2 games with surround sound support and I found a small list online... From 2004. Anyway, this is a more up to date list of PS2 games that offer surround sound support. Note that I haven't tested all of these games, only a few (most of them came from another site). If you have a stack of PS2 games, check the back and look for "surround" under "Dolby" or whatever, Dolby Pro Logic 2 doesn't really mean surround support. It might also not be advertised as surround on the back but still be supported in game, you can check this in the in-game settings.

007: Everything or Nothing
007: Nightfire
Armored Core 3
ATV: Offroad Fury 2
Baulder's Gate
Final Fantasy X-2
Final Fight 2004
Jet Li: Rise to Honor
Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne
Medal of Honor: Frontline
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2
Need For Speed: Underground
Onimusha 3: Demon Siege
Rainbow Six 3 - Tom Clancy's
Silent Hill 2
Soul Calibur 2
Soul Calibur 3
Splinter Cell - Tom Clancy's

Sometimes sound systems need to be set to Pro Logic 2 or PL2 in order for your surround audio to kick in, I figured that out when messing with Soul Calibur 3 (it has a multi channel sound test). Some games may also only support surround sound in cutscenes.

NTSC-U Downloads / Re: (NGC) Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (U) [oRARs]

I am not getting a .iso or .gcm file after I extract it with winrar. All I get is a bunch of numbered files and a .sfv file. Am I not seeing other files that I need to download that should come with the ~1.1GB download?

You need 7zip. Open the .001 file with it and you'll see the files. You can download 7zip here.

Depends on the games. I feel like they're gonna fuck up Battlefront 3, continue to fuck up Battlefield, but do a good job on the next Need for Speed and Mirror's Edge.
